Last year a contractor took a job for building a retaining wall in my backyard, dug two huge pits and never came back. As the pits were there all winter and they did nothing to secure we had huge landslide causing damage to my and my neighbours' properties. Upon calling that company multiple times and not getting any help from them we decided to termiate the contract with them and hire Hadasa to fix the damage and finish the walls. Hadasa came to our rescue. They fixed all the problems and compleated the wall. Very good people, they know there stuff and go above and beyond to help their clients. Thanks Daniel and team. I will defenitly hire them in the future if I need them.

QUESTIONS WE’RE OFTEN ASKED

Typical utilities include water supply, sanitary sewer, stormwater drainage, gas, electrical and communication lines.

Yes. All site servicing requires a permit. Most often, the work will be included in your original building permit (new build, addition, etc.). Depending on what type of work needs to be completed and the location of municipal services, an additional permit might be required to complete connection and installation work on the road. This may require traffic control and/or road closure as part of the installation process. Hadasa Contracting will coordinate with the local municipality to ensure proper timing, installation, and that all local requirements are met.

Shallow utilities include electrical, gas, and telecommunication lines (internet, phone) while deep utilities involve water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. These deep utilities are usually about 3 feet below the shallow utilities and require benching or trenching (safety methods to excavating) to safely install.

The time it takes to complete site servicing depends on the complexity of the project, the size of the site, and the services being installed. For a small residential lot, it can take a few days to a week, while larger commercial or multi-family developments may take several weeks or even months. We work with our clients to set realistic timelines and make sure all services are installed and functioning properly before construction begins.

Typically, property owners maintain the private side of the services, while municipalities and townships handle the public infrastructure.

A few examples of common challenges faced during installation include unexpected underground obstacles (that may require brining a vac truck to site), weather delays, regulatory approvals and plan changes, and coordination with multiple utility providers. In the past, we’ve also had to face unexpected buried lines with no markings or city identification. This tends to happen in older neighborhoods where old services are not marked on city maps, and can cause extended timelines due to investigations performed by the municipality.
